June Is Bustin' Out All Over With LIVE Entertainment! My Recommendations, PART ONE!

Happy Birthday, Sally Kellerman
When we seek to discover the best in others, we somehow bring out the best in ourselves. - William Arthur Ward

Happy June 2nd!
June 2 is the 154th day of the year. There are 212 days remaining until the end of the year.
The world is upside down now!
Donald J. Trump is now the presumptive Republican nominee for president, with a real chance of being elected to the highest political office in the United States. It’s an astonishing rise to power for someone whose racism, xenophobia and misogyny is out of step with the majority of Americans values. How did we get here?

News of actress Jaclyn Smith’s death spread quickly earlier this week causing concern among fans across the world. However the May 2016 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax and just the latest in a string of fake celebrity death reports. Thankfully, the actress best known for her role on the television series Charlie's Angels is alive and well.

The Associated Press is reporting that music superstar Prince died on April 21st of an opioid overdose. Read MORE.

Let's focus on the positives today!

On Wednesday, June 15, 2015 at 7:00 PM, Randie Levine-Miller will host her annual Showstopper Divas event at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street) to benefit The Actors Fund.*

Critically acclaimed Broadway theater veterans and Tony Award nominees Beth Fowler ("Beauty and the Beast," "The Boy From Oz," "Sweeney Todd," "Baby," currently co-starring on Netflix's Orange Is The New
Black) and Lee Roy Reams, Broadway's favorite song and dance man (The original company of Sweet Charity AND the film starring Shirley MacLaine!, 42nd Street, "Applause,"
"Hello Dolly," The Producers) will be performing. Joining them will be the winners of Tomatoes Got Talent--- Karen Nason (2014), Susan Vardy (2015) and Kathleen Waters (2016).  Randie Levine-Miller will also perform some show tunes and standards.

Randi Levine-Miller (seen here with Jennifer Sheehan)
Tomatoes Got Talent, a competition for women past 40 that was held this past March at The Triad, was created as an annual event to highlight the performing talents of women past 40 who are accomplished in other arenas, but are not currently working as entertainers.

It was produced by Randie and Cheryl Benton, head of The Three Tomatoes newsletter and website, both of which are geared to "women who aren't kids!"
Karen Nason is a successful businesswoman in Hoboken and a "bigger than life" talent!  Susan Vardy, Ph.D, is a clinical psychologist and local PTA president  who toured in "Hello Dolly" 30 years ago directed by Lee Roy Reams!   Kathleen Waters is a legal secretary by day and sings with several bands. She started as an actress, but life took over. Kathleen is a 911 World Trade Center survivor.

Paul Chamlin is the Musical Director of this exciting event at The Triad where Randie is once again bringing her brand of entertainment. After overcoming a lifetime of paralyzing stage-fright, she's proud to be singing again (having previously segued to a long and successful career in public relations).  Randie has produced and hosted Showstopper Divas and Divos at such venues as The Metropolitan Room, Feinstein's, and for many years at the Friars Club. She's been called a modern day "hostess with the mostess." Randie's produced some 90 star-studded events in total, including tributes to Charles Strouse, Marvin Hamlisch, Ervin Drake, Tovah Feldshuh, Jim Dale, Len Cariou, Tony Roberts & Lee Roy Reams.

Tickets are priced at $45. There is a 2 drink minimum.  Reservations are required for this popular event.

To order tickets, go to www.triadnyc.com or call: 1-888-596-1027

*Net proceeds to benefit The Actors Fund.

Thank you, to all of the artists mentioned in this blog for the gifts you have given to the world and continue to give!

With grateful XOXOXs ,
